Weather in the Jacksonville area has been less than optimal recently. But it didn’t stop this converged communicator – or the St. Johns Country Day girls soccer team – from the Region 1-1A final Friday night. St. Johns Country Day, ranked #3 in the Southeast by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, romped over The First Academy (of Orlando) 8-0. Here’s the link to the Times-Union story:
This game also showed modern communication in action. The match was broadcast live over a paid webcast through PlayOn Sports, a media company that broadcasts high school sports events. The production process can be tricky, and I had the opportunity to watch the broadcasters maneuver their cameras to avoid obstructing columns and pouring rains.
