If you’re a converged communicator preparing for Saturday’s Gate River Run, you’ll want to take note. The finish line isn’t in its usual position because of the massive construction at EverBank Field, where contractors are installing new video boards behind the end zone. So race organizers have been forced to shift the line a few hundred yards farther up the road. That means a longer run coming off the grueling Hart Bridge.
My story for the Florida Times-Union (http://jacksonville.com/sports/local-sports/local-running/2014-03-09/story/stadium-construction-means-new-finish-line-gate) breaks it all down. In addition to the different finish line, there will also be a minor adjustment to the downtown leg as runners turn onto Adams Street to cut out one block.
Are there any converged communicators planning to run the race, or any special River Run memories from the past? Feel free to leave any comments below.
